#5 Biffy Clyro - Take Me Out

Whichever way I go in Bramley, Leeds I can try and avoid it as much as possible but one thing that is inevitable is that I’ll have to tackle a hill at some point. Fortunately my ipod shuffle seems to be keenly aware of when I’m faced with such a task.

This is the tune it dropped the other night when I was faced with a first gear mother. Needless to say it helped.

5 firsts in one day

I may not have posted for a while Ive been too busy running…somedays.

Today I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill for the first time in 7 years. I managed to get over the whole gerbil on an exercise wheel quite quickly and found my stride pretty quickly. In my bible it says its good to mix up a little road running with some sessions on the runner.

It was pretty good if I’m being honest and certainly a welcome change to the strong winds outside. When I dropped the other half off there and had a peep inside it just looked too cosy so I relented.

Anyway, today was a day of a few firsts. I managed to run continuously for 1hr 15mins and that is definitely a first. It was probably the furthest I’ve ever run aswell but I wasn’t able to keep a track of the distance stats because noggins here being a complete amateur managed to knock the emergency cord off 30 minutes into the run.

Today was also the first day I ran with my BRAND NEW IPOD SHUFFLE. Kindly bought for me by my gorgeous other half. If any runner out there is umming and aahing about which mp3 player to get you can’t go wrong with the 2GB ipod shuffle. Especially as it can hold enough motivation music to get me/you round 26.2 miles.

My final other first today was my initiation into joggers nipple. But I’m not going to bore you with how my sweaty shirt was rubbing against my nips and how they got all red and sore. Not very enjoyable to say the least.

Don’t forget, if you’re running a marathon it is acceptable to wet yourself in public. Make sure you make use of this opportunity!

Through no-ones fault but my own I've found myself enroled for the Berlin marathon 2008 without any previous experience of running events and completely out of shape.

Some ask Why? Others just look at me blankly. Hey ho, all I ask for a bit of sponsorship for my charity of choice Orchid - Fightin Male Cancer.
